Welcome to the Amiga Game Selector
Development Blog!
I've decided, rather than spam a load of Facebook groups with the development of AGS, I'll post any non major stuff here.
Amiga Game Selector is now the third name for AGS and is probably the most relevant as I port the installation to more formats. Development started within a week of the A500 Mini being released as I thought that I could make a difference. It also felt like quite a fun project.
AGS is an AmigaDOS based launcher for WHDLoad games and demos and is based on the amazing collection by Retroplay on the English Amiga Board (EAB)
For those that don't know, the A500 Mini is a mini console version of the Commodore Amiga A500 computer system that uses emulation to run it's software. On release, the UI was quite limited and the compatability of WHDLoad games was mediocre at best.
I already have a WHDLoad launcher and database and it was quite easy to add the necessary code to generate AGS2 scripts. AGS2 is an Amiga frontend for games. It's proper name is Arcade Game Selector 2 and has been in development for a number of years.
The A500 Mini/Maxi Facebook group is a great resource of the A500 mini and is always active and a very helpful place. You can visit it here...
